After much anticipation, Garden’s Season 3 is now in full swing!
With the launch of Season 3: Cherry Blossom 🌸, we’re turning the community’s focus to real-world usage – enhancing the Bitcoin DeFi ecosystem using Arbitrum’s low-cost, lightning-fast network. Everyone is invited to #GrowYourBTC in innovative and rewarding ways.
Season Duration
Season 3 kicked off on May 13 (12:00 UTC) and will continue until all SEED rewards have been distributed to the community.
We’ve allocated 5 million SEED to the reward pool, roughly 3.4% of the total SEED supply. Garden has already distributed 10 million SEED to participating gardeners throughout the previous Seasons, and we’re excited to be adding even more to the harvest!
New Rewards Structure
This time around, we’ve made some adjustments to how Season 3 works based on reasons outlined here. Some of these sentiments are reflected in hayden.eth’s recent tweet, which highlights the desire for direct token rewards, significant community payouts, and straightforward challenges.
That’s why this time around, you can earn SEED tokens directly by performing swaps between BTC-WBTC and WBTC-WBTC (across chains) on Garden, instead of receiving “points”.
For each swap on Garden, you earn back 100% of fees you paid for the swap and a bonus in SEED rewards. A random multiplier is also at play similar to previous seasons. So, the more you trade, the better your chances of hitting a substantial bonus.

For the first time in Garden’s history, we’ll also be expanding our rewards program to include one-time bonuses for engaging with tasks set by our Season 3 partners. Complete the quests from our partners, and boom — a nice SEED bonus lands in your wallet!

Refer and Earn
We’ve simplified our referral system. Perma-ref links will be available during Season 3. Earn 7% of the fees generated by every gardener you refer, in SEED rewards.

How to Use Your Hard-Earned SEED
Wondering what to do with your newly earned SEED? Here are a couple of suggestions:
- Cover Fees: Use your SEED to cover transaction fees on Garden, making your cross-chain transfers more cost-effective and hassle-free.
- Stake for Gains: Vest your SEED into our staking program to earn a competitive APY, growing your stash while you help secure the ecosystem. (Note: Garden’s APY is currently 153.22%!)
Withdrawing Your SEED
Rewards from our leaderboard are vested until the end of the Season but worry not— they can still be used immediately to offset transaction fees on Garden. Once Season 3 wraps up, your rewarded SEED unlocks gradually over the next 30 days at a rate of 1/30 of the total amount per day. For example, if you've earned 300 SEED through the course of the Season, 10 SEED will unlock each day.
Referral rewards, on the other hand, are always unlocked and can be withdrawn right away.
